Established in 2008, the Department of Information Technology at ICFAI University Meghalaya, with campuses in Shillong and Tura, is dedicated to providing exceptional education and research in the IT field. We offer a four-year Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program aligned with the NEP 2020 framework, and a two-year Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program following the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). These programs are designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills to excel in today's rapidly evolving technological world.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BCA)
Our The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is an undergraduate degree designed to equip students with a strong foundation in computer applications and programming which is aligned with NEP 2020 This four-year program covers a wide range of subjects including programming languages, database management, software development, and computer networks. The program often serves as a stepping stone to further studies like MCA or specialized IT courses.
The Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
Is a two years’ postgraduate program designed to equip students with advanced IT skills. It focuses on software development, database management, networking, and algorithm design. The program blends theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing graduates for roles in software industries, IT consulting, and research.
UG Programs
Pass in Class XII (any discipline). Students awaiting final examinations results are also eligible to apply.
PG Programs
Pass in Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University with at least 45% marks.

The Department of IT offers a range of career opportunities for students, providing valuable hands-on experience and professional development in various areas of information technology. These opportunities can help students build the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in the IT industry. Some of the key career opportunities include, Web Developers, Software Developer, Network Engineer, System Administrator etc.
We offer Internships program for the students to get valuable practical experience, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application. The IT Department provides 3 (Three) internship opportunities for UG and 2 (Two) internship opportunities for PG.
The department provides career counseling services to help students understand their career options, set career goals, and develop job-search strategies. This includes resume writing, interview preparation, counseling and job market insights. Placement officers also work closely with students to identify job opportunities that match their skills and interests. They assist with application processes, interview preparation, and offer negotiations.
