This Course will enable the students to
Explore new ideas and thoughts through the application of theoretical knowledge of Education subject and statistical techniques and pedagogical analysis.
Relate their understanding of the theories of educational psychology, philosophical and sociological foundations, ICT, Guidance and counseling, Peace and Value education in various classroom situations and societal experiences.
Demonstrate thinking skills by analyzing, synthesizing, evaluating factual and conceptual educational information from multiple sources and verifying the relevance of various topics by applying them.
Developing self-sufficiency, sincerity, independent thinking as education is a lifelong process for empowering the students to face all challenges in their future endeavours.
Become aware of socio-cultural-political diversity through analysis of diverse social groups, schools of philosophy, religion, class, caste, culture, role of family and other institutions and agencies.
Develop concern for the society, nation, as well as promote the feelings of internationalism. Various educational policies for the eradication of illiteracy, equalization of educational opportunity, UEE, inclusion, National Disintegration, population explosion and so on are taught in order to sensitize the students. Core Philosophy of Indian Constitution is also developed among the students.
Acquaint themselves with the diverse current educational problems and other related issues like SSA, Inclusive education Unemployment, Poverty, National Disintegration and Population explosion.
Apply the knowledge of education in order to inculcate awareness among students concerning racial and gender equity; human rights issues, social justice and other values as enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution.
Understand various issues related to environment and sustainable development by acquainting them with the diverse causes that lead to social change and progress.
Understand the moral concepts of good and bad, right and wrong. It helps to form a strong foundation of character and personality.

Develop the concept of guidance and counselling, various types of Guidance and basic data necessary for Guidance
Develop an understanding of educational technology, use of computer in education and communication, develop an understanding of ICT & e-learning and they also get acquainted with the instructional techniques and different models of teaching.
Develop an understanding about concept, nature, types and major approaches of curriculum, the relation among curriculum, pedagogy and assessment
Develop understanding of the concepts of measurement and evaluation in education, the process of Evaluation, different types of measuring instruments and their uses, the concepts of validity and reliability and their importance in educational measurement and the principles of test construction.

Admission Modalities
The Admission Modalities are with reference to the campus-based programs offered by the ICFAI University, Meghalaya at Tura & Shillong campuses. The medium of instruction is English.
Eligibility
Pass in Class XII (any discipline). Students awaiting final examinations results are also eligible to apply.
Students of Class XII who have not received the original certificates from the Board by July 18, 2024 will be admitted provisionally. Their admission will be confirmed subject to their passing the qualifying examination. The registration of the candidates not meeting the criteria by September 16, 2024 will be cancelled and admission fee will be forfeited and only 50% of the semester fee will be refunded after notifying the cancellation of the seat by the University.
Admission Criteria
- The selection of applicants into the Program is made through screening of application and interview.
- While evaluating students for admission, due weightage is given to their academic distinction, awards in sports/cultural events, debates, quizzes and other extra co-curricular activities.
- Original certificates and Domicile certificate should be produced for verification at the time of payment of first semester fee. The original certificates will be returned after verification.
Special Reservation
- There shall be a special provision for admission of students belonging to the State of Meghalaya in any course of ICFAI University, Meghalaya, which shall not be less than 25 (twenty-five) percent of seats in each course / discipline subject to the students meeting the minimum qualifying requirements referred to above.
- Seats remaining unfilled under special reservation may be filled up by allotting the same to students belonging to Open Category.

Applicants can apply online by filling up the Application Form available at www.iumeghalaya.edu.in and make payment of Rs. 300 towards online Registration charges by using Credit / Debit Card (Visa / Master Card / Citibank Card) or Internet banking option using secure internet payment gateway. Applicants applying online should attach their scanned colour photograph along with the Online Application. The Prospectus will be sent to such applicants.

The applicants are advised to read the guidelines carefully before completing the Application Form for Admission.

Fee Schedule
Fee comprises of Admission Fee and Program Fee.
Admission Fee (Non-Refundable)
Admission Fee of Rs. 6,000 is to be paid by all the selected candidates immediately after the admission decision is announced. *Foreign students have to pay an admission fee of Rs. 7,000. The last date for payment of admission fee is July 10, 2024.
Caution Deposit (Refundable)
Students have to pay Rs 3,000 as Caution Deposit along with the first installment of Program Fee. The Caution Deposit will be refunded without interest after adjusting for dues, if any, to the students on completion of the Program.
Program Fee
Students have to pay the program fee at the beginning of each semester, as per the due dates which will be indicated in the Student Handbook. The first semester fee is to be paid on or before July 21, 2024.
