ICFAI University Meghalaya Becomes a Virtual Labs Nodal Center (VLNC) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India
ICFAI University Meghalaya is proud to announce its association with the Virtual Labs project of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, as an official Virtual Labs Nodal Center (VLNC). This national initiative empowers higher education institutions to provide remote access to high-quality laboratory simulations across science and engineering disciplines, aligning seamlessly with the experiential and skill-based learning vision of NEP 2020.
About Virtual Labs
Virtual Labs is a flagship program under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), developed by premier institutions including IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, and IIIT Hyderabad. The platform bridges the gap between theoretical learning and practical experimentation by allowing students and faculty to perform simulations and experiments from anywhere, anytime.
Key Objectives of Virtual Labs
- Provide interactive and immersive lab-based learning beyond geographical and physical limitations
- Foster deeper conceptual understanding through virtual experimentation
- Support outcome-based learning and skill development as per NEP 2020
- Strengthen laboratory exposure for students across all science and engineering streams
Benefits to ICFAI University Meghalaya as a Nodal Center
- Official recognition by the Ministry of Education (MoE) as a Virtual Labs Nodal Center
- Free access to 1500+ virtual laboratory experiments developed by IITs and other premier institutions
- Faculty training and certification programs from IITs for designated Virtual Lab Coordinators
- Integration of virtual experiments into curriculum and regular laboratory courses
- Enhanced academic quality, research orientation, and student engagement
- Opportunity to host Virtual Lab workshops, hackathons, and awareness programs on campus
